Júlia Széphelyi

I graduated from the Hungarian Film Academy in Budapest with an MA in scriptwriting and dramaturgy, followed by Serial Eyes, the postgraduate programme in scriptwriting at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). I developed TV series for HBO Hungary and RTL (Grundy UFA), wrote and directed short films and social campaigns, and gained considerable shooting experience in various roles. I worked in the casting department of several Hungarian and international productions, including two feature films by Oscar-winning director László Nemes. For a few years I worked as a creative producer, editing trailers for HBO and Cinemax, and I am currently working as a linguist (subtitle translation) for films and series on Netflix, Amazon and Disney Plus. I have extensive experience as a reader, having evaluated projects for European Short Pitch and served on the jury for the City of Film section of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
